What the Puff Print Looks and Feels Like

For a plain-fronted piece in the same fleece, the navy star-speckle hoodie leaves the chest clean and puts its detail on the back. Puff ink, by contrast, is foamed so it rises off the surface, which gives the wordmark a physical edge you can run a thumb across. Washing a Puff-Print Hoodie

Raised ink fails for one reason: heat. Turn the piece inside out, run it cold and leave the bleach alone, because inside out keeps the lettering off the drum where the rubbing happens. Our product care notes go garment by garment.

Why You Must Never Tumble It

At this weight a dryer shrinks the body and flattens puff lettering for good once it has had real heat, and flattened puff does not rise again. Hang it to dry, and if a crease needs pressing, press from the inside and keep the iron well off the print. The all-over repeat on the yellow star hoodie is just as unforgiving of heat.

When to Wear It

This is autumn and winter weight, worn on its own through the milder months and as the warm layer under a shell once it turns cold. The soft gold sits well with washed denim and plain black, and because the print is tonal here it carries into daytime more easily than a bright two-color front.
