Inclusion

Everything here runs S to XL and nothing else, and there is no point dressing that up. A four-size range leaves people out at both ends, and we would rather say so on this page than let someone find out at checkout.

Who These Clothes Are Cut For

The cut is consistent rather than gendered in any strict sense. Some pieces are drafted on a women's block and are marked that way on the product page, but most of the rail is worn across the whole shop, and a size is a size on either side of it. Extending the range is a production question rather than a decision we are avoiding, and when it moves, it will show up as sizes on the product pages rather than as a statement here.

Why the Range Stops at XL, and What Would Move It

Grading a pattern beyond XL is not a matter of scaling the same block up. Shoulder slope, armhole depth and the placement of the drawing all have to be redrawn, and on a printed garment the print itself has to be re-sized or it lands in the wrong place on the chest. Each extra size is a separate sample, a separate screen setup and a separate minimum order on a rail that already buys in small numbers.

That is an explanation, not a defence. The honest position is that the range currently serves a narrower set of bodies than it should, and that widening it depends on the runs being big enough to carry the extra setup.

What Is Published in the Meantime

Every measurement we hold is on the size guide, garment flat as well as body, so nobody has to order to find out. If the numbers do not work for you, they do not work, and knowing that before checkout is better than after.

What Our Range Does and Does Not Cover

We would rather tell you plainly where the range reaches than imply it fits everyone. The sizes we carry are listed on every product with real flat measurements, and the oversized, dropped-shoulder cut gives most bodies room to move. Where a piece will not work for you, the measurement will say so before checkout, which is better news then than after a parcel arrives. The full set of sizes and figures sits with the range on Spider Canada.

Measurements Over Labels

A label size means little across different brands, so we publish the flat chest, length and sleeve for each piece. Measure something you already wear well and compare the numbers; that is the most honest fit advice we can give.

If a size you need is not currently carried, telling us is useful, because demand is one of the few honest signals that decides what gets added next.
